MY CURRENT OBSESSION

If you have not started watching True Detective on HBO, I recommend you start RIGHT NOW! I cannot get enough of this show. The story alone is crazy, but I also love the photography and the amazing title sequence. The layering of images over semi silhouetted faces. There’s just something about this intro that got me hooked immediately.

It also brought me back to college around the time when I was figuring out what type of graphic designer to become. A teacher in my motion graphics class urged me to go into the title sequence industry. Of course I did not listen to him, because I was already interested in print design. Apart of me always wondered what if I went in that direction. I always catch myself really paying attention to title sequence, getting being sucked in immediately and wondering what if?

Check out the sequence here, and start watching now!

When I came across this video from oh so beautiful paper, I instantly fell in love. Arley-Rose Torsone from Ladyfingers Letterpress creates such beautiful custom hand lettered invites. I can sit and watch this video over and over again, there is something so mesmerizing, watching her create these amazing designs.

Her talent is definitely something I am envious of; I have never really mastered hand lettering. This does give me the drive to start practicing again.

It’s always great to reflect on a year, especially when it comes to work and personal growth. This year I achieved many goals and created some amazing designs. I redesigned my blog (thanks BuildRX), I have designed 4 beautiful wedding invites, and developed some great relationships with new clients. I look forward to seeing where my career goes in the coming year. Who knows I might fulfill my dream; designing an identity for a new restaurant.

For now I wanted to share some of my favorite design'vy posts. It ranges from architecture, graphic design and typography.
