L.A. ADVENTURE {6}: SUNKEN CITY

image

During the holiday I finally adventured out to Sunken City in San Pedro. I have wanted to go for months. This place is really cool, I sort of felt like a trouble maker because there are signs all over saying no trespassing, but you just crawl under the fence and sneak over to the site.

Here is a brief history; in 1929 that entire area began slipping into the sea. They never really understood why, but now all that remains are pieces of concrete covered in graffiti. It has pretty breath taking views of the Pacific Ocean; no wonder people lived on this small tip of land.

It is pretty great to go and just sit looking out into the vas ocean. I think I stayed for over an hour. I wish I had some spray paint I could have left my mark. I highly recommend checking this place out, there is even a really pretty park next door you can go and lay in the grass.
