Over the holidays I checked out a fairly new restaurant in Downtown L.A. called Alma. All the food has an experimental quality to it. They add different ingredients together that seem a little strange at first, but once you try it, you will understand why. My favorites were; the seaweed and tofu beignet. I love the mix of salty seaweed and the tang from the lime. I also loved that they served them on a piece of tile. I also enjoyed the dessert, because they added toasted quinoa which created a great texture to the panna cotta.

The overall space is very open and inviting. I am a fan of open air kitchen, I love watching chefs cook. I am looking forwarded to coming back real soon.
