My good friend Amir is probably the busiest person I know. Not only is he an amazing painter, I felt honored when he did a portrait of me. He also is the creator of the successful magazine and blog Beautiful Decay. He now can add curator and creator of this amazing event called Against the Grain to his resume. Against the Grain is a one-night art auction to raise grant funds for one Los Angeles-based student artist. Which can be used studio practice, tuition, or supplies.
This event will showcase some very well known artists with amazing starting bids of only $100. How can you not come out and support young artists and possibly get your hands on some great artwork.
The opening reception will also feature live DJ sets, food trucks, and beer tasting by Brouwerij West.
The first 100 people who buy tickets will get a $60 tote bag filled with art supplies. The tickets are only $10 – and can be purchased here.
Against The Grain is presented by Arches Paper, Rembrandt Oil and Blick Art Stores, who has already donated $1,500 towards the scholarship!
